This weekend saw a lot of progress on my Siegfried armor, most of it forwards, though a bit backwards.

Follow the cut to read on…

479

In the top row, I have forearm, upper arm, lower leg, and upper back armor. In the lower row, I have a pair of latex gloves (forgot to remove from the frame), an outer shoulder guard, the rear “skirt”, abdomen, and mid-back armor. In addition to these, I have both thigh guards plastered, and the upper chest armor created, ready to be plastered.

Unfortunately, after seeing some of these pieces and comparing them to my reference shots, I feel the need to redo them, such as the abdomen and thigh armor. This shouldn’t take too long, as the “correct” thigh guards are actually easier to create than what I did, so hopefully by next weekend they’ll be ready to be fiberglassed along with the rest of this armor.

Still to be created: final lower leg, upper arm band, collar, glove, and foot armor. The list is getting shorter all the time, and I feel that Halloween is still an acceptable deadline for this costume.
