I'm trying to set a record for the most comments on your site... in one day. No, I don't get notifications when you reply to my comments; is there some way I can set that up? I'm kind of dumb when it comes to this kind of stuff. And I try to avoid hand sewing as much as possible (unless it's 1000s of sequins of course or embroidering tulle), so I think I just assume everyone else is the same way. I wouldn't have been able to sew that in a few minutes by hand though, nice job!

I'm not sure I ever mentioned it, really. Mostly because the pleather was cheaper, and slightly sturdier compared to the leather I could find. And I lent out my sewing machine to a friend, so hand sewing was my only option. Besides, those seams are tiny, they only took a minute or two.

Oh, pleather... I'm sure you've told me that already and I forgot in my sleep-deprived state earlier. Why didn't you use your sewing machine though? I don't even own a proper thimble... I have a cheap plastic one, but I don't trust it for anything like sewing pleather/leather.

It's just pleather, not real leather. All the stitching was done by hand, with a thimble to save my poor thumb from damage. I'll post some close-ups tonight after work.

I can't tell from the photos, even when I zoomed in on them-- are the straps made from leather? And did you sew the buckles onto the straps by hand? I think I have more to ask, but I need a nap before class tonight, so it'll have to wait 'til later.
