I think I could have finished Siegfried in time for Halloween, but it would’ve been a rush job, and a friend convinced me that I should take my time and instead compete with it at Costume-Con – luckily, I’ve never competed before, so I’ll be in the novice category, but it ought to be fun.

So, I started fishing around for ideas for a quick new costume, and realized that a few people at my office are planning on doing vampires. That left me with only one real choice – a vampire hunter! There are very few props needed for this costume, and it’ll let me get back to sewing, which I’m not very good at yet. I already have the cloak I needed, and was able to do most of the work for the shirt last night and this morning. Need to attach the collar, put in the holes for the lacing up the front, and add elastic to the cuffs still, but I should be able to finish those tonight. Then I’ll need to whip up a bandoleer for stakes…
