Work continues on my Siegfried costume from Soul Calibur 3. I’m creating the armor by using thin foam strips to build up the shape, then coating each piece in Rigid Wrap for stability before a final coat of fiberglass will give it strength.
Today I finished putting the Rigid Wrap layer on the thigh guards, which are probably the second most complicated pieces to do (after the chestplate). I’m pleased with the results so far – even though they still need to be sanded down, they have the overall shape I wanted, and fit properly over clothes.
I still have a long ways to go, but the thigh guards were partially meant to show if the foam/Rigid Wrap idea would work or not. At this point, I think I’m happy, and will move forward to other parts.

Almost Halloween! Well not really, but almost, almost Halloween anyway sort of.
That’s Mike’s favorite guy from Soul Caliber. He always picks him and always wins. Then he started picking Nightmare after that and since he was the same guy, or whatever the plot was, it allowed him to be a bad guy and feel good about it.
So no one should have to ask if you are going be POSTING PICS! =)

And here I played Siegfried because he’s the good version… I’ll have to take Mike on, it should be fun!
And naturally, I’ll be posting construction pics and final versions when I get a chance. Nothing’s painted yet, though, so it doesn’t look like much.

Would it be enough to cover the therapy afterwards? I have a feeling I’d need some after doing that costume…
