Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get anything done on the companion cube this morning, though the reasons were twofold:
1) I appear to have misplaced all of my hand-sewing needles. I don’t know where they all ran off to, but I hope they’re happy. I’ll be picking some more up over lunch today.
2) I needed to get some work done on my Ryu costume for PMX, coming up this weekend. Fortunately, this consisted of making a necklace medallion and a red cloth belt that just winds around me several times. Of course, stitching 2 yards of red swimwear fabric (to match the neck band on the shirt) takes a while no matter what you do, and I still need to do the second seam when I reverse it – which I’ll handle tonight.
Most likely, I’ll have to just tack on the cube corners with a few stitches in each, then do a more solid sewing job later, either on the plane, at the convention, or later when I have more time. However, I want all the pieces complete by the end of tonight, so I can at least bring it with me to the con.
