A few days late, due to my lack of internet access, but I saw a rather impressive Fourth of July celebration put on by:
* My parents’ neighbors, who apparently spent a few hundred dollars on fireworks and such
* Fireflies, who were flying about in the back yard
* And a local lightning storm that was going strong for quite a while.
I must say, the combination of those three was really neat. Though I observed from the safety of the indoors, and I’m glad I did – the next day, we found evidence of a lightning strike in my parents’ front yard. Yikes, talk about close.
